Espen is a true engineer at heart and a mechanical hobbyist with many projects on his plate. His recent obsession is Lego, which he uses to captivate his two young children. However, his passion for building goes far beyond tiny bricks.

– I used to spend hours tinkering with my car and cruising around the local area. Nowadays, I'm all about family-friendly electric cars with booster seats for the kids, Espen laughs.

Espen also enjoys maintaining his 21-year-old Kawasaki Ninja ZX-9R motorcycle, which he uses to commute from Sykkylven, the most beautiful place in the world, according to him. Espen also claims to have the world's greatest sense of humor.

– I laugh at myself a lot, he says – and laughs at himself.

Espen's diverse experience includes a trade certificate in Industrial Furniture Upholstery, a bachelor's degree in engineering from NTNU focusing on product and system design and working as a carpenter – an experience he thoroughly enjoyed. Prior to joining SEAONICS, Espen was involved in product development and testing of a new stroller for the baby equipment company Stokke and was a system integrator at Optimar. Although his childhood dream of becoming a New York police officer didn't come true, Espen believes he's found his true calling at SEAONICS.

– I'm definitely in my element here. What's not to love about cranes and winches; big, strong, electric, quiet equipment, on vessel, and I love vessels! We make massive machines so stable that you can fish in rougher seas due to the large extent of premium electric-driven winch systems which have good durability, operability, and functionality. It's awesome contributing to our customers increasing their potential at sea.

Despite Espen's evident passion for nuts, bolts, and big machines, it's the people and the learning curve at SEAONICS that really fuels his enthusiasm.

– The enormous wealth of knowledge among the people working at SEAONICS sets us apart in the market. Combine that with my curiosity, product focus, and love for acquiring comprehensive, quality answers to my many questions, and you've got an incredible workplace where you can develop and grow.
