It’s no longer news that SEAONICS delivers gangways – but this time, we’ve taken it a step further.

For the first time in SEAONICS history, we’ve delivered a complete, fully assembled Gangway straight from a successful Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) to the shipyard – ready for direct installation on board the vessel.

Thanks to the close proximity between our site in Vietnam and the VARD Vung Tau shipyard – just 300 meters apart – we’re able to move fully assembled and tested equipment directly to our customers without the need for disassembly.

Why does this benefit our customers?

“By delivering the Gangway in one piece, we eliminate weeks of mechanical and electrical disassembly after FAT – and save just as much time on the shipyard side during installation. The Gangway can simply be lifted onboard as-is, cutting interface work, reducing commissioning time, and minimizing risk”, says Stian Haglind, Site Manager Vietnam.

General Director in Vard Vung Tau, Sivert Skårn, confirms the value of delivering fully assembled equipment directly from the FAT site:

“The key advantage is that the Gangway can be lifted directly onboard upon arrival at the yard – no need for reassembly, loop checking, or additional testing. This also significantly reduces the risk of issues, since we avoid having to disassemble equipment that has already been fully tested and verified at FAT."

This applies not only to Gangways, but to most of the equipment produced in the proximity to Vard Vung Tau, including our ECMC 3D Cranes. It increases efficiency, reducing lead time and our environmental footprint, with minimal transport needs and fewer work hours overall.

That’s how we give our clients the upper hand at sea.
