SEAONICS has developed an advanced training simulator for project development and testing

As part of the project delivery of three 100-ton offshore subsea cranes, SEAONICS has developed an advanced training simulator for project development and testing. In the final stages of the project, it is a great advantage to test final functionalities and carry out training for personnel that will be part of the commission phase and be operating the crane.

The training simulator and digital twin of the crane are based on the mathematical models of the system and forces acting upon the actual crane operations. Throughout the project, the simulator provided additional quality assurance of the project delivery. It gave the operator valuable experience with how the crane works and training on various operations.

Simulators should reflect actual system behaviour, not perfection – which doesn't exist in the real world

At Seaonics, we are dedicated to enhancing the safety and efficiency of mission-critical operations through the development of our motion-compensated gangway and crane simulator. Our focus is not on ultra-flashy 3D visuals, but on delivering accurate, real-world performance. This approach underpins both our control system software development and our operator training programmes, ensuring the highest levels of safety and operational effectiveness.
