First-Movers Making Waves

The ECMC Gangways is proving its worth at sea, already facilitating safe and efficient operations. Through tailored solutions, in-house control systems, and simulator training, we deliver seamless and reliable performance from day one

"In just over a year, we’ve sold 16 ECMC Gangways and 18 ECMC Cranes. Being the only supplier of fully electric gangways and crane packages, it's clear that the market recognizes the value of specialized solutions," says Ståle Fure, VP Sales.

Next-Level Modularity - The Specialist Advantage

Every vessel and operation comes with unique demands. That’s why we don’t believe in one-size-fits-all solutions. In one of our latest contracts, we’ve created smarter access solutions by integrating rail systems into existing structures instead of traditional tower solutions – an approach shaped by our specialist expertise.

"Our modular approach with ECMC Gangway and ECMC Crane allows us to adapt to various needs and vessel designs. Whether it’s tower-mounted, rail-integrated, or fixed installations, we deliver solutions tailored to our clients’ specific requirements," explains Petter Nesset, Sales Manager.

"We are very pleased with the process of integrating the equipment with the vessel. The fully electric gangway is optimized for personnel and cargo transfer for our 15-year tender with Siemens Gamesa at the Hai Long offshore wind project," said CEO for Europe Cyan Renewables, Lars Christian Zøhner.

Redefining Gangway Performance with Electric Precision

Fully electric systems provide superior precision and quieter operation compared to hydraulic solutions. Gangway operators benefit from full torque from zero speed, enabling immediate and precise handling. Unlike hydraulic systems, which require a buildup of pressure to reach optimal torque, electric drives offer instant and responsive control—crucial for handling delicate movements in dynamic marine conditions.

The simplified design also reduces maintenance needs, and the gangway comes equipped with redundant control systems for increased reliability. Beyond performance, the system is eco-friendly—with no oil spill risk, lower power consumption in idle mode, and the ability to regenerate power back into the vessel’s grid.

Offshore Gangway Operations with Intelligent Technology

As we move forward, we remain committed to integrating AI, visual intelligence, and machine learning to refine and automate landing sequences—making them safer, more efficient, and highly repeatable.

"Smarter systems don’t just react—they anticipate. That’s where real change happens. The right balance of automation and control is about enabling operators with the best possible tools to do the job," says CTO Stig Espeseth.

"It is great to be able to work closely with a forward-thinking company like SEAONICS where operational feedback, design and innovation sessions allow us to continue to optimize offshore vessel performance,"
