LARS systems for Nanhai Rescue Bureau
Seaonics has been chosen to deliver two premium LARS systems for ROV operations. The system consists of a 3000 meter work ROV, and a 6000 meter observation ROV and will enable Nanhai Rescue Bureau to carry out efficient salvage and rescue operations.
System overview
The systems are delivered with complete drive package and control system with full AHC functionality. Both systems are overside A-frame systems and based on PM motor technology, where Seaonics have delivered several systems from 2013. During the tender process Seaonics has worked closely with the ship designer and collaboration partners to find the optimal arrangement of the system for vessel integration and ship operations. The end result is a system well integrated with vessel design, equipment arrangement and vessel logistics.
Nanhai Rescue Bureau
The system will be used for a Rescue & Salvage Vessel for Nanhai Rescue Bureau, and built at China Merchant Heavy Industry (Shenzhen) Co. Ltd. Nanhai Rescue Bureau is one of the national professional maritime rescue organizations in China and was established in 2003. Their operations are mainly concentrated maritime rescue operations South China Sea including emergency response, firefighting and salvage operations, as well as oil spill detection, deep water exploration and transportation of lifesaving equipment and supplies.
Seaonics focusing on the Asian market
The contract is the result of targeted focus and work in Seaonics towards the growing Chinese market over the last few years. Head of Sales Jan Kjærstad says “We have focused on establishing high quality and knowledgeable collaboration partners in China, and are glad to see the results of this process. We will continue to work towards the Asian market and we see some exiting projects in the pipeline.”
